I promise i'll only do this once

But you must have a look at this excellent article by Gadi Al-Ghazi that makes the connections between Israel's steady fortification of the occupation, classic colonialism, capitalism and zionist ideology, while also throwing into the mix some frightening information about how gender dynamics in Israel's divided society are played out.

Really, really well done.

Diala habibti,

We are all sitting here in beit Jala reading your blog (Dana, Tata, Dalia, and Maha). So each of us want to write our little bit. We miss you and are thankful that we can at least connect with you through the marvels of technology this holiday season.

From Tata:
I am amazed and proud of you. You have turned 180 degrees, you have grown even more than I expected. I am not surprized that you are handling this experience with great spirit and grace. I love the pictures and everything you wrote. And when you come back you will be a different person with all this experience. God bless you and looking forward to seeing you.
Love, Tata.

From Dalia:
still in shock over all your news. Gabe had said he was reading your blog but then again he is far more technological than I am. So we were here in Beit Jala thinking about you when your mom pulled this up. Had to paste it in word to get it comfortably large enough for all of us to read but it was great fun and entertainment along with a few teary moments. As we do miss you very much and hope you are taking good care of yourself. Enjoy every moment, the difficult included as this must truly be an experience of a lifetime.
Lots and lots of love from your cousin,
Dalia

From Dana:
Even at the risk of sounding like a spoiled brat i must admit that i thought i was roughing it out sleeping in the freezing cold beit jala house or living in a tiny apartment in rome with dad's snoring, no dish washer, etc... Well, you put me in my place. Reading about ur African adventures is thrilling. I am so proud. I always looked up to you but now your like a hero to me. And, u know me, i like my fat, but man, i was turned off by the stuff ur eating. ha ha. Well, keep safe as you continue on this great adventure u have emarked on. I will keep u in my thoughts and i will definitely keep reading ur blog. I love u and i miss u cousin.
Ciao, Dana
